Good morning everyone, today was election day! While everyone was voting, this is what we did in room 34:

First, we got out our homework from yesterday, wrote down our homework for today, and we got our boxes (cubbies) out. Mr. Coley puts papers in the boxes during the day for us to take home. Spelling was next, we corrected our practice book, pg.223. We had to sort our words and divide them into syllables. Spelling lasts about 30 mins. and afterward we did our Grammar. We learned about helping verbs and main verbs. In the sentence, I am talking, the helping verb would be “am”. After that, we went to Computer Lab where Mr. Coley taught how to do a power-point presentation. When Computer Lab was over, we went to recess.

After recess, we all go to our assigned math classes. I am in Mr. Henning’s class and we are learning about bar-graphs and line-graphs. Math lasts for about an hour and then we went to lunch.

When we came back in our classroom, it was time for silent reading. During silent reading, we get to pick our own book and read silently in our seats. I am reading The Transall Saga which is about a boy named Mark who is somehow teleported to a different planet by a blue energy beam. It is a very interesting book to read and I recommend it for your next reading book.

Science was the last thing we did today. We talked about Earth’s weather like lightening and how hot the air around lightening is. Guess how hot the air around lightening is? 5 x’s the surface of the sun!!

Then, the bell rang, and we got to go home!

Hi everybody. It’s Ayanna here and I'm going to talk to you about what we did at school today.

To start it all off, it was Friday Flag. A worker from Sam’s Club came to our school and awarded a woman named Patti one hundred dollars to use for her classroom. Also, Mr. Banks got a check for one thousand dollars to use for the school.

Once we got back to our classroom we did D.M.A. Today though, we did stuff a little different. We took an Analogy Quiz. I got my pencil, wrote my name, and started to work. Here are some questions that we had to do like, spine : cactus:: :porcupine, and cool : frigid:: _ :torrid. Do you know what goes in the blank?

When we finished, we took a spelling test. Some of our words are: complex, partner, district, mischief. Here are two challenge words: extreme, and conscience.

When we were done, it was time for Literature Circles. This is the second day meeting in our groups. My group is reading the book Found. So far, it is a very good, but I can’t spoil it for anybody. To find out you have to read it.

Then before I knew it, it was time to for recess. For recess, I played tetherball with all my friends. When we got back in form recess my class and I read a book named Tale of Despereaux. Before we started to read the class recapped what we read the day before. The part that my teacher read was mostly about a girl named Migory. She was sold after her mom died, and her father did not want her anymore. Migory was sold to a man for a red table cloth, a hand full of cigarettes, and a hen. She was beat every day, but she finally got the best wish you could ever ask for.

At the end of the day, it was time to reveal the Quiet Seat, and the Student of the week. The Quiet Seat, if you don’t know, gets a piece of candy. The Student of the Week get’s to sit at the computer screen, to click the cases for the person who wins, The Weekly Homophone Challenge.

Nathan, is the Student of the Week, and clicked the cases for Lydia. The game she played was Deal or No Deal. My teacher said the words, “Deal or No Deal," more then ten times, that’s his favorite words to say when we play Deal or No Deal.

Hope you had a great time reading today’s Daily Blog.
